FTSE LIVE: Pound inches up despite turmoil

At the end of a tough week, the pound was up 0.19 per cent against the US dollar and 0.04 per cent against the euro this morning, despite Theresa May being on the verge of being pushed out the door.

Brent crude fell to around $67 a barrel last night. This mirrored a fall in stock markets - which have been battered by the escalating trade tensions between America and China.
